Thoughts on the Battle of the Blankets: Nipto.1.2

Dear God,

Thank you for this morning. I'm sorry it took me forever to get here. Lord, that battle of the blankets is a hard one, and at the moment, I'm struggling. I didn't lose today, but hopefully today's battle will make me go to bed sooner tonight.

I'm a little worried about today, but you brought all the right verses this morning. You see what's done in secret, you will give me your word, and I need to seek righteousness/wisdom more than anything else!

Here's my notes.

Love,

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers (and sisters), whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is RIGHT whatever is pure whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
(“such things” not a comprehensive list!)
The Nasty Rat Put Locusts Above Each Person. Now I can remember the order!

Mt 5:6 awesome. Perfect timing.

Verse 20—the Pharisees were awesomely righteous. The most righteous of them all, but Jesus is saying that you have to be more righteous than them to enter the kingdom of heaven. Though I think he really meant, be more righteous than the Pharisees appear to be, because it's really easy to be more righteous than them because they overdo stuff with their bodies, but their minds aren't in the business.

Vv. 21-24 I didn't realize the “Therefore.” Meaning: because you are guilty of murder before God if you hate your brother (which is a revolutionary statement right there), if you have something against your brother, leave your sacrifice until you are reconciled. You committed murder in your hearts, so get that straightened up.

So basically during the next few sections he's completely revolutionizing what people have followed for centuries. He is taking what was already a limitation (eye for eye, tooth for tooth) and taking it way beyond that (don't even resist). That is completely impossible, except with the help of God.

Forgive other people when they sin against you, otherwise you're in trouble, and God won't forgive you yours.

Keep it secret, keep it safe.

Therefore, since you can't serve both God and Money, don't even worry aboutt your money. This next section is one of my favorites, though it's hard for me to remember to forget about tomorrow. I tried for a while, and it worked pretty well, but I forgot... so easy to do.

Worrying shows little faith in God that he will take care of you.

Do God's will... it's the most awesomest thing to do.

Woo, Gentile centurion for beasting out the faith! Hehe

Proverbs 2 Seek after wisdom, and put what you learn into practice. Then it will go well with you and your Father.

Rev 2 God sees what's going on in secret, and rejoices when you do the right thing.

COME BACK TO YOUR FIRST LOVE.

Poor and persecuted doesn't seem ideal, but if you get through it, God finds it ideal. They are rich, and the persecution won't last long.

I have a white stone to represent the one in verse 17.

Love and faith, service and perseverance.
