There. It is finished. The deciding battle was fought and won. Now we are just finishing up the war, trying to get as many people on this side as possible.
It is finished, but we are not done. There's still Revelation. There's still the Present.
What you did... do... is amazing. What you will do? Can't wait.
Love,
Matthew 27:27-56; Mark 15:16-41; Luke 23:26-49; John 19:17-30; Matthew 27:57-66; Mark 15:42-47; Luke 23:50-56; John 19:31-42
This is not the Messiah. The Messiah would not die. The Messiah would definitely not die such a humiliating and painful death.
Yet he did. And he forgave them. And he still showed them love. Compassion. Even though he was in their power, he still gave up the little power he had to hurl insults back. Love. Such a powerful word. It's not a feeling. It's something that goes down to your core and, if you let it, takes over and becomes a part of you.
Ok, I'd like to point out the fact that many people were raised from the dead the moment Jesus died. And yet...? They only get a verse or two. That's how crazy the event were going on here.
John's account of Jesus' death is so simply put. It is finished. Hallelujah, amen!
Burial of Jesus.
Hey, it's Nicodemus! I was positive he didn't ever come back in the story again. Weird thing is, only John mentions him. I wonder how many other people were a part of that revolution Jesus created that never got mentioned. Weird to think about, a bit.
And that's it. That's the Passion week. The end. NOT. No. There's a sequel. Without the sequel, this first bit is POINTLESS. Thank God that's not the end of the story.
Thank you.
